Amrita came to Tutero scoring 56% on fractions and decimals. She was matched with Rishika, who worked with her every week on exactly what her class was covering. Her next topic test on the same material came back at 100%, and she has since said she wants to take maths further.

How much is a Year 2 tutor per hour?
From A$65 an hour. No sign-up fee, no contract, and you pay after each lesson, so you can try a few weeks and see how your child responds.
Is Year 2 too early for a tutor?
No, if reading or number is a worry. Year 2 is when reading should become fluent, and gaps here make Year 3, including NAPLAN in March, harder. Lessons are active and paced for a seven-year-old.
When is the right age to start a tutor?
There's no single best age. Start when a gap shows in class or in a school report. In early primary, a small gap is quicker to close than the larger one it can become by Year 4.
How can I help my Year 2 child with reading at home?
Ten minutes of reading aloud each day, with your child doing the reading. The tutor's report after each lesson lists the sounds, words or skills to practise that week.
Do you have Year 2 tutors in my area?
Tutero tutors teach online, so your area doesn't matter. Your child is matched to a tutor who suits them, not the one closest to you, and learns from home.
What happens after I fill in the form?
An account manager calls within 24 hours to hear about your child, matches a tutor on level and personality, and books the first lesson at a time that suits your week.
