Generate NAPLAN-aligned reading, writing, conventions of language and numeracy assessments for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 — in minutes. Diagnose readiness, identify gaps and run targeted practice without writing another item by hand.

Curriculum-Aligned Across All Four NAPLAN Domains

Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 — Same Platform, Different Rigour
Diagnostic, Formative, Practice — Whichever You Need

Every assessment maps to the four NAPLAN domains assessed nationally: reading, writing, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation), and numeracy. Item types follow the structure students see on the live test — multiple choice, drag-and-drop, constructed response, and extended writing prompts on narrative or persuasive stimuli. Content is anchored to the Australian Curriculum (Version 9) so what students practise on Tutero is what they're being taught in class.
Year 3 sits firmly in early primary — short comprehension passages, single-step numeracy, foundational grammar. Year 5 layers in inference, multi-step problems and percentages. Year 7 moves into algebraic reasoning, vocabulary in context, and longer persuasive writing. Year 9 stretches into proportional reasoning, statistical interpretation, and analytical writing. You set the year level; the platform sets the rigour.
Use a diagnostic to baseline a class in week one. Run formative checks to track domain-by-domain growth across the term. Drop in a full practice paper four weeks out from the May test window. Each assessment is digital or printable, with item-level analytics so you can see exactly which sub-strand a student stumbled on.

The Four NAPLAN Domains
NAPLAN assesses four domains nationally: reading, writing, conventions of language, and numeracy. Tutero generates items in every domain. Reading uses authentic literary, informative and persuasive stimuli with comprehension and inference questions. Writing offers narrative or persuasive prompts marked against the official NAPLAN writing rubric (audience, text structure, ideas, persuasive devices, vocabulary, cohesion, paragraphing, sentence structure, punctuation, spelling). Conventions of language covers spelling, grammar and punctuation as discrete items. Numeracy spans number and algebra, measurement and geometry, and statistics and probability.
Item Types That Mirror the Live Test
NAPLAN is delivered online for almost every Australian school. Students encounter multiple choice, multiple-select, drag-and-drop sequencing, hotspot, short constructed response, and extended writing items. Tutero generates every one of these formats, so students don't lose marks to unfamiliar interfaces. You can toggle item types on or off per assessment, scale difficulty, and request adaptive branching that mirrors the tailored test design ACARA uses in the live paper.
Year-by-year coverage
Year 3 covers literal comprehension, simple inference, short narrative writing, basic grammar, place value, simple addition and subtraction, fractions of a shape, and time. Year 5 introduces multi-step word problems, decimal operations, area and perimeter, persuasive writing, and grammatical conventions including subject–verb agreement. Year 7 adds integers, ratio, linear patterns, vocabulary in context, and persuasive structure. Year 9 includes Pythagoras, indices, simultaneous equations, statistical interpretation, analytical writing, and complex sentence-level grammar. Every item is tagged to a sub-strand so analytics roll up to the level you actually plan from.
