An account manager asks which courses are on the timetable, which certificate they lead to and where marks are slipping, then picks a tutor who knows those courses. Two subjects can sit with one tutor or with two.
Students learn in 1-on-1 online lessons
Lessons follow the course the school is running: VCE Units 1 and 2, the HSC Year 11 courses, QCE Units 1 and 2, SACE Stage 1, Year 11 ATAR or General courses for the WACE, or TASC courses towards the TCE.

My grades were poor in VCE Chemistry. I signed up with Tutero and I observed a 39% rise in my grades after our sessions. My grade for the prior 2 SACs had been 80% and I was probably going to drop the ball for Probability. Mission Successful
Before i joined Tutero, My son used to be terrible in certain units of mathematics such as algebra fractions decimals and percentages, i noticed this so i got him a tutor and within a few sessions now he knows them like it's the back of his hand.
Very good service

What changes when Year 11 marks start to count?
In every state, Year 11 is when most senior certificate courses begin, and a report carries more weight than before. The rules differ, but they point the same way. A VCE unit has to be satisfactorily completed before it counts. NSW students need at least 12 units of Year 11 courses on the way to the HSC. In Queensland, each satisfactory Unit 1 and Unit 2 earns QCE credit. Most South Australian students meet the SACE literacy and numeracy requirements in Stage 1, which takes a C grade or better. WA counts C grades from Year 11 units towards the WACE, and in Tasmania completed courses earn TCE credit points. At the same time the timetable fills with several senior courses, each with its own assessment dates, so the week needs a plan rather than a to-do list. A tutor helps on both fronts: the course content, and a routine of reading every marked task and fixing what lost marks before the next one. Yes. The match is made on the exact course, not on the word maths. Victoria runs Foundation Mathematics, General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics, and Queensland has the same line-up with Essential Mathematics in place of Foundation. NSW options include Mathematics Advanced and Mathematics Extension 1. WA offers Mathematics Essential, Applications, Methods and Specialist, while South Australian students at Stage 1 take subjects such as General Mathematics or Mathematics. The tutor then works on the topics and tasks that course sets. There is more on how we run maths tutoring.
By planning from the assessment dates backwards. Each senior course sets its own tasks, and the due dates can land in the same weeks, so a tutor starts by putting every date on one page and marking the weeks that will be tight. Lessons then follow that map: a text response for English one week, a practical report or a maths test the next. Nothing gets left until the night before because it was never on the list. A student can also have a different tutor for each course.
Only one thing, and it is avoidable. The rate starts from A$65 an hour, with no contracts and no upfront payments: each lesson is billed after it has happened. A second subject is simply a second lesson at its own hourly rate, and it can be dropped again later. The exception is a late cancellation: under Tutero's terms, a lesson cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice can attract a cancellation fee. The pricing page lists the starting rate for each tutor level.
Take it seriously, but it does not have to set the tone for the year. Senior tasks usually ask for more written reasoning than Year 10 did, and they are marked against criteria a student may never have read closely. A tutor starts with the returned tasks themselves: which criteria cost marks, whether the gap is content or the way the answer was set out, and what changes in the next task. Done every time a task comes back, that review becomes the habit worth carrying out of Year 11.
Either can, and it helps if both are on the call that follows. The quote form on this page asks for the student's year band and subjects. Have the exact course names ready for the call, such as Mathematical Methods Units 1 and 2 or Mathematics Advanced, because that is what the match is built on. An account manager calls within 24 hours to go through assessment dates, the courses that need work and the times that suit. A tutor is then put forward, and if the fit turns out to be wrong, a different one is found.
