I cannot thank the tutors enough.

I cannot thank the tutors enough.

We had tutors for Chemistry and Maths Methods for our daughter in Grade 12. Both Luke and Francisco were fantastic and provided supportive assistance as well as increasing her confidence. I cannot thank them both enough.

I strongly recommend Tutero!

I strongly recommend Tutero!

Not only was the process made really simple and engaging, but Tutero also provided me a personalised page where I can track my sessions, organise tutors in different subjects if need be and a record of the work I needed to follow up on. If you need a tutor, but don't want all the logistical stress involved with tracking one down, I strongly recommend Tutero!

They answered my enquiry on a weekend within half an hour which I did not expect. The others I contacted, replied the following week. My nephew is learning with Andy. The price is much more affordable my nephew has improved so much considering he has slight autism. Tutero, Joey and his team have proven very caring and considerate. Thank you Tutero.

Grades went from 61% ave to 85%.

Grades went from 61% ave to 85%.

My grades were poor in VCE Chemistry. I signed up with Tutero and I observed a 39% rise in my grades after our sessions. My grade for the prior 2 SACs had been 80% and I was probably going to drop the ball for Probability. I applied for another tutor who enabled me to keep my avg of 80% in the Probability SAC within 2 weeks prior.

Excellent tutoring

Excellent tutoring

I have tried 3 tutoring providers before I came to Tutero. My son has been learning Maths and also Science with Tutero for 3 months, and I have been very impressed by the quality of tutors and the learning resources they provide to their students. I have been telling other parents at his school about the service and they too have joined and had a similar experience.

Tutero has been excellent for my 11 year old. In lockdown we saw him having difficulties with Maths and also English and so I contacted Tutero and booked him into 1-on-1 private tutoring. We saw fantastic results after a few lessons and he was able to apply his learnings in the classroom. We are continuing tutoring and very happy with the service.

Fantastic tutors for Grade 12

Fantastic tutors for Grade 12

My daughter is in Grade 12, and we have arranged tutors for Maths Methods and Chemistry. Both Francisco and Luke have been excellent. They have not only taken her through the class work she has been completing to explain the concepts she was struggling with to help her gain confidence but have also assisted in providing extra resources where required.

Why does tutoring in Bondi Junction put confidence before marks?

In Years 7 to 10 the marks on a school report are built from tasks the school sets across the year, and a student who expects to do badly on a task usually prepares badly for it. That is why a Tutero tutor works on confidence first. Stage 4 covers Years 7 and 8: new subjects, unfamiliar classrooms and the first marked tests, projects and essays of high school. The tutor reads each task sheet with the student, turns it into steps and starts with the parts already within reach. Stage 5 covers Years 9 and 10, when answers get longer and the A to E grade for each course is an on-balance judgement the school draws from the evidence across it, so the result builds task by task rather than in one night of cramming. The tutor keeps that rhythm steady. Lessons run online, which suits families across the Waverley Council area, from Queens Park and Bronte up to Dover Heights. Get a custom quote above and mention the next task due.

Is tutoring in Bondi Junction paid by the term or by the lesson?
plusminus

By the lesson. Tutoring is from A$65 per hour, with no sign-up fee and no contract, and a lesson is billed only after it has been taught. Nothing is bought in advance, so there is no pack of hours to use up before an assessment task comes and goes. That suits Stages 4 and 5, where the workload rises and falls with each task: a family can add a second weekly lesson while a big research task is open, then drop back to one. The hourly rate is set out in the custom quote, so it is clear before any lesson is booked.

Our Year 9 in Bondi Junction copes with English but freezes in maths tests. Can we tutor just maths?
plusminus

Yes. A student can start with the one subject that is shaking their confidence and keep it at that. In Stage 5 maths is often that subject, with algebra and longer multi-step questions turning a tidy Year 8 student into a hesitant one. If English becomes the worry later, a second tutor who teaches it can be added. The range runs from Kindergarten reading and number to the senior courses of Years 11 and 12, across maths, English, the sciences, economics and French, and each subject gets a tutor who teaches that stage of the NSW syllabus.

Will a shy student in Bondi Junction settle into online lessons?
plusminus

Online is often easier for a shy student, not harder. Every Tutero lesson is online and one to one, so there is no class watching, no centre to walk into and nobody else hearing a wrong answer. The student stays at home, the tutor works on a shared page they both mark up, and it is the same tutor each week, which is what lets a quiet student start asking questions. Families in Bondi, Bronte, Queens Park and Dover Heights draw on the same tutors, chosen for the student's course and NSW syllabus stage rather than their street. See how lessons run across Sydney.

Do you tutor students from Eastern Suburbs schools such as Kambala or Rose Bay Secondary College?
plusminus

Yes. Students from schools such as Rose Bay Secondary College at Dover Heights, Waverley College, Kambala at Rose Bay and Reddam House, whose Years 10 to 12 campus sits at Bondi Beach, learn with Tutero. Tutero has no arrangement with any of them. Each school sets its own assessment tasks and timing through Stages 4 and 5, so the tutor works from the student's own task sheets rather than a generic program. In Years 11 and 12 all four teach HSC courses, and Kambala students can take the IB Diploma instead. Tutero tutors both pathways.

Can we ask for a patient tutor for a Bondi Junction student who has lost confidence?
plusminus

You should. The account manager's first call is partly about the subject and partly about the student: what happened on the last marked task, whether they go quiet or rush when stuck, and what they would like to feel able to do. The tutor is then picked for that temperament as well as for teaching the right NSW stage, and put to you for approval before anything is booked. If the fit is off after a lesson or two, tell your account manager and we find someone else, with no charge for the swap.

Can the first lesson be planned around a task sheet the student has just been given?
plusminus

That is a good place to begin. Fill in the quote form above with the year level and subjects, and an account manager phones you within 24 hours. On that call, mention the task and when it is due, and keep the sheet or the last marked piece of work nearby. A tutor who teaches that stage is chosen, you approve the pairing, and a regular online time is set. The first lesson starts from the task itself, so the student sees progress on something that counts from week one. Lessons are from A$65 per hour, paid after each one, with no contract.
