How does 1-on-1 online SAT tutoring work?
You meet your tutor live online at a set time each week, using practice material that matches the digital SAT. The first lesson follows a skills check, so the plan starts from where you are. Your tutor then targets weak question types, reviews timing and writes up progress after each lesson.
Is the new digital SAT harder than the paper test?
It isn't harder overall, but it feels different. The test is section-adaptive, so your first module sets the difficulty of the second. It's also shorter, with less time per section. Practicing on the same format helps students stay calm and avoid easy mistakes early on. Your tutor also teaches pacing, so no section runs out of time before the last question.
How long before the test should SAT prep start?
Most students do well starting two to four months before their test date. That leaves time to find gaps, fix them and take a few full practice tests. If the date is closer, your tutor narrows the plan to the areas likely to add the most points. A retake plan can be built in too, since many students sit the test more than once.
What is a good SAT score?
A good SAT score depends on the colleges you're aiming for. The scale runs from 400 to 1600, with each section scored from 200 to 800. Your tutor can help you look at the typical ranges for schools on your list and set a target that makes sense. Progress toward that number is tracked in every lesson report.
Do you offer ACT tutoring as well?
Yes, we also tutor for the ACT, and some students prepare for both before choosing one. Your tutor can compare how you do on each format and recommend the test that suits your strengths. Lessons for either exam follow the same live, one-on-one setup. Many of the math and reading skills overlap, so practice for one often helps with the other.
How much does SAT tutoring cost?
