Clara was in 10th grade in Australia, on the Gold Coast, struggling in several subjects and unable to make sense of physics at all. Her mother Jules had tried other tutors, then read the Tutero reviews and gave it a go. Clara kept the same tutor through to 12th grade and came to love physics. Because she trains as a triathlete, lessons moved when races and training got in the way. She finished in the top 4% of students in her state and now studies law at Bond University, and her brother Kristen has since started with a tutor of his own.
“When Clara started she couldn't understand physics at all, she found it really difficult. With her tutor she came to love it.”

“Clara got a 96 ATAR and is now studying law at Bond.”

center 32%The equations arrive with the ideas. Junior science describes forces and energy in words. Senior physics asks for the same ideas as equations, vectors and graphs, often inside one question. A student who followed the idea in class can still stall when they have to rearrange a formula or read a velocity-time graph. The tutor works out which half is missing.
The unit they are on right now. The tutor opens your child's current topic on the whiteboard, such as Newton's laws or circuits, and works through a few exam-style questions with them. That shows whether the gap is the concept, the working or the setting out. A written report and a plan for the semester arrive in the parent app that evening.
Confidence first, then the next task. 98% of students report more confidence. Grades follow at the next school task, such as a topic test, lab report or data test, because lessons prepare for that task directly. Senior students often add sessions in the weeks before midterms and final exams.
Top 2% of applicants. Matched to the student, not assigned.

Private 1-on-1 physics tutoring is one rate at every grade level, the same in 9th grade as in 12th grade. No contracts, no sign-up fee, and you pay after each lesson, so you can add sessions before an exam or pause over the holidays. Tell us the grade level and we will send a quote.
The hourly rate also covers matching with a physics tutor, a dedicated account manager and a written report after every lesson in the parent app.
In 9th and 10th grade, physics is usually part of physical science: motion and forces, energy, waves, electricity and circuits.
In 11th and 12th grade the tutor follows your child's own course: Physics, Honors Physics, AP Physics 1, 2 or C, or IB Physics SL and HL. That includes kinematics, Newton's laws, energy and momentum, electricity and magnetism, waves and modern physics.
Each lesson is one student and one tutor, live, on an interactive whiteboard where both can draw force diagrams, sketch circuits and work through calculations step by step. The student keeps the same tutor each week, so the tutor knows which units are coming and where the last test went wrong.
Most families notice confidence first: 98% of students report more confidence. Grades tend to follow at the next school assessment, because lessons are planned around the student's own course and tasks.
After a short quiz, an account manager calls to ask about your child's grade level, state, physics course, upcoming assessments and how they like to learn. They then choose a physics tutor from Tutero's team, who are drawn from the top 2% of applicants, for course knowledge and personality fit.
The first lesson is a diagnostic on the unit your child is studying now. If the match does not feel right after a lesson or two, the account manager finds another tutor, and the new tutor picks up from the lesson reports.
Yes. Tutors work through past exam questions, practice setting out free-response answers, and help students plan review around their course's exam. They also help with lab reports and class projects before they are due.
Tutero matches students with tutors from the top 2% of applicants: university students and graduates who did well in physics themselves, alongside qualified teachers. Every tutor is trained and coached before their first lesson.
The Our Tutors page introduces the wider team, with each tutor's subjects, university and background, so you can see who your child might be matched with.
Yes, anywhere in the United States with an internet connection. A student in a small town can work with the same physics tutors as a student in a big city, with lessons on weekdays, evenings and weekends.
There are dedicated pages for tutoring in Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, New York and Dallas, and for Florida, Texas, California, New York and Virginia.
Send a request with your child's grade level and physics course, and an account manager will call to find the right tutor. You pay after each lesson, there are no contracts, and you can stop any time.
