Can Step Up for Students pay for tutoring in Miami?
Yes, for students with a UA or PEP scholarship. Tutero is an approved Step Up for Students provider on the EMA Marketplace, so lessons are paid straight from the scholarship and you don't pay anything yourself. If your child's scholarship is FES-EO or FTC, those are mostly for private school tuition, and our team can check your account.
Where can I find a math teacher in Miami?
You can have a certified math teacher meet your child online every week through Tutero. Lessons cover the math your child is doing now and fill in anything missed earlier, based on a skills check. It works for early number skills, middle school math and high school courses like Algebra 1 and geometry.
Is SAT prep available for Miami students?
Yes. A certified teacher prepares your teen for the digital SAT, which has Reading and Writing and Math sections and is scored from 400 to 1600. Lessons target the question types your teen misses most and build pacing. Evening and weekend times make it easier to fit around school.
Can you help my child with reading?
Yes. Reading support starts with a check of how your child decodes words, reads aloud and understands what they read. The teacher then works on the weakest link, using texts at the right level, and moves up as your child improves. After each lesson, you'll get notes on what to practice at home.
Do you work with IEPs and homeschool students?
Yes, both. Teachers read your child's IEP and carry its accommodations into every lesson, and a UA scholarship can pay for those lessons. Homeschool families get lessons planned from their own curriculum, and PEP scholarships cover them. In both cases, your child has the same teacher every week.
What if we don't have a scholarship?
You can still book lessons at one clear rate that's the same for every grade. There are no contracts, and you can pause or stop at any point. If your child later receives a Step Up for Students scholarship, our team can help you move lessons onto it so you stop paying out of pocket.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools is the largest school district in Florida and the fourth-largest in the United States. It is also one of a few U.S. districts to offer optional bilingual education in Spanish, French, German, Haitian Creole and Mandarin Chinese. Inside Miami's city limits are key high schools such as MAST Academy, Design and Architecture High School, Coral Reef High School and the New World School of the Arts.
Across the district, Florida checks reading and math with the FAST tests, and many high school courses finish with a state end-of-course exam.
