Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Do you offer ACT tutoring in Minneapolis?
Yes, ACT prep is available for Minneapolis high school students. The tutor begins with a practice test to find which sections cost the most points. Lessons then combine content review in math, English, reading and science with timed practice, so your teen gets faster as well as more accurate before test day.
Can you help with the Minnesota MCA tests?
Yes, tutors can prepare students for the MCA tests in reading, math and science. They strengthen the skills the tests measure within regular lessons, then add MCA-style questions in the weeks before testing. That way your child improves in class and walks into the test feeling prepared. You will see the practice noted in each lesson report.
Do you tutor families in Saint Paul too?
Yes, we tutor students across Saint Paul and the wider Twin Cities area. Lessons are online, so every family has the same choice of tutors and times. The tutor plans from your child's own school assignments, whichever district they are in, so lessons stay relevant to class. Lesson times are the same for every family, with weekday, evening and weekend options.
What does a math tutoring lesson look like?
A typical lesson opens with a quick review of last week, then moves into new work. The tutor and your child solve problems together on a shared online whiteboard, and the tutor explains each step until it clicks. Lessons often finish with a few problems your child tries alone, so the tutor can see what stuck.
Can I change tutors if it is not working?
Tell your account manager what is not working. Tutero has no contracts, so you pay after each lesson and can cancel any time.
What is the cost of Minneapolis tutoring?
You get a custom quote with one clear rate that applies to every grade. There is no contract to sign, so you are free to pause or stop. The rate includes tutor matching, the skills check, a written report after every lesson and ongoing support from your account manager. Most families begin with one lesson a week.
Winter in Minneapolis can make a weekly drive to a tutor hard to keep up. Online lessons solve that. Your child logs in from home at the same time each week, with the same tutor, and nothing gets cancelled because of the roads. Families across the Twin Cities use Tutero, and the main requests we hear are a math tutor for a child who has lost confidence, a reading tutor for younger students and ACT prep for high schoolers.
For students at Minneapolis Public Schools, the tutor builds the plan from your child's homework and tests after a skills check. Minnesota students take the MCA tests in reading, math and science, and the tutor can add targeted practice before testing season. The same lessons work for families in Saint Paul or elsewhere in Hennepin County. A short written report after every lesson keeps you in the loop, and your account manager checks in each term.
Schools in Minneapolis teach to the Minnesota Academic Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Minneapolis Public Schools enrolled about 28,500 students in 2024 across more than fifty community and magnet schools. The city also had 28 charter schools that year, and open enrollment gives families more options. English learners make up about 17 percent of the district, and families speak 100 languages at home.
Minnesota students take the MCA tests. With the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campus in the city, many Minneapolis teens plan ahead for college and the ACT. A Tutero tutor plans lessons from your child's own school assignments and Minnesota's standards, and adds MCA practice when the timing makes sense. That works the same for a magnet school, a charter school or a homeschool plan.
Minneapolis is called the City of Lakes, with thirteen lakes, the Mississippi River running through it and parks linked by the Grand Rounds. Families live on both banks of the river, and many more across the wider Twin Cities. Live online lessons mean every one of them books from the same tutors. A Minneapolis student joins from home after school, in the evening or on a weekend, and keeps one tutor through the year. Families near Lake Harriet or Bde Maka Ska and families downtown are on equal footing.
