Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Do you have Spanish and French tutors in New Orleans?
Yes, we have tutors for both Spanish and French at school level. Lessons build speaking, listening, grammar and the vocabulary from your child's current unit. If your child is in a language class, the tutor works from those assignments, so the practice helps with grades right away as well as with confidence speaking.
Can a tutor help my child get ready for LEAP 2025?
Yes, tutors can prepare New Orleans students for LEAP 2025 in reading and math. The approach is to build the skills the test checks, such as reading closely and solving word problems, rather than cramming practice tests. That practice sits alongside regular homework help, so your child improves in class and on test day.
Do you offer ACT prep?
Yes, one-on-one ACT prep is available for high school students. The tutor uses a practice test to find the sections that need the most work, then plans lessons around them. Your teen practises under timed conditions closer to test day, and you can track each step in the lesson reports.
We live in New Orleans East. Can my child still get a good tutor?
Yes, because every lesson is online, a family in New Orleans East has exactly the same tutors and times as anyone else in the city. There is nothing to drive to. Your child needs a device with a camera and a quiet spot, and lessons can run after school, in the evening or on weekends.
What happens in the first lesson?
The first lesson starts with a skills check so the tutor can see what your child already knows. The tutor then talks through what they found and starts on the most pressing topic. Afterward you receive a written report in the parent app explaining the plan for the coming weeks.
How is pricing set for New Orleans families?
You receive a custom quote with one clear rate for every grade. There are no contracts, so you can pause or stop whenever you like. The rate includes tutor matching, the skills check, a report after every lesson and a personal account manager who checks progress each term. Most families settle on one lesson a week.
New Orleans families tell us the hardest part of finding a tutor is the logistics. Traffic, school pickups and work shifts make a fixed weekly drive tough. With Tutero, your child logs in from home at the same time each week and works with the same tutor, whichever part of Orleans Parish you live in. The requests we hear most are math help, reading support, ACT prep and language tutoring in Spanish or French.
NOLA Public Schools students take LEAP 2025, Louisiana's state test, in English language arts, math and other subjects. A tutor can help your child get ready for it by building the core skills it measures, while spending most lessons on the homework and tests coming home now. Every plan starts with a skills check. After each lesson you get a written report in the parent app, and your account manager reviews how things are going with you each term.
Schools in New Orleans teach to the Louisiana Student Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Public education in New Orleans looks different from almost anywhere else. After Hurricane Katrina, most schools became independent charter schools, and by 2014 every public school student in the system attended one, the first city in the nation to do so. Parents can also choose which school to enroll in rather than using the nearest one.
Whatever school your child attends, the Louisiana state test is LEAP 2025. New Orleans also has the highest concentration of colleges in Louisiana, including Tulane, Loyola, Xavier, Dillard and the University of New Orleans, which keeps college on the radar for many teens. A Tutero tutor works from the assignments your child's own school sets and Louisiana's standards, and builds LEAP skills into that work.
In New Orleans, uptown and downtown are measured from Canal Street. Families live everywhere from the French Quarter, Tremé, the Marigny and Bywater downtown to the Garden District, the Irish Channel and Carrollton uptown, and out to Gentilly, Lakeview and Algiers. With live online lessons, every one of those neighborhoods gets the same tutors and the same after-school, evening and weekend times. A New Orleans student logs in from home and meets the same tutor each week, with no trip across the river.
