Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Is there a math tutor for Moreno Valley students?
Yes. Math is the subject Moreno Valley families ask about most, and Tutero has tutors for every level from early number sense to Calculus. Your child's tutor finds the specific gaps first, then works through the topics their class is covering now. Every lesson is live and 1-on-1, so your child can ask as many questions as they need.
Can lessons happen in the evening?
Yes. Evening lessons are some of the most popular times, especially for families where parents get home late. Tutero also offers weekday afternoon and weekend slots. You pick a regular time that suits your household, and your child meets the same tutor at that time each week. Weekend mornings are a good option for students who are tired after school.
What does my child need for online tutoring?
Your child needs a laptop or tablet with a camera, a stable internet connection and a quiet place to sit. That is it. Lessons run through a video call with a shared whiteboard for working out problems together. We walk you through the setup before the first lesson so nothing gets in the way.
Do you help with the CAASPP tests?
Yes. California's CAASPP tests in English and math are built into your child's plan rather than crammed at the end. Since lessons follow classwork all year, the skills tested are practiced along the way. Closer to spring testing, the tutor can add practice in the on-screen question formats. Your child will not be surprised by how the questions look on the day.
How will I know how my Moreno Valley child is doing?
After every lesson, the tutor writes a short report that appears in the Tutero parent app. It explains what was covered, what went well and what comes next. Your personal account manager also reviews progress with you each term and can adjust the plan if goals change. If you have a question between reports, your account manager is one message away.
How much does tutoring cost?
Every family receives a custom quote with one clear rate that applies to every grade. There is no contract, so you can pause or stop at any point. The price includes tutor matching, a report after every lesson and ongoing support from your account manager. Your account manager can walk you through the quote before your child starts.
Moreno Valley is the second-largest city in Riverside County and one of the Inland Empire's biggest population centers. It is also a place where plenty of parents commute a long way for work. By the time everyone is home, there is little energy left for a drive to a tutoring center and back.
Online lessons remove that problem. Your child logs on from home, meets the same tutor each week and works through whatever is hardest right now. For many Moreno Valley families that is math: times tables, fractions, pre-algebra and the jump to high school courses. The tutor starts with a skills check and then plans from your child's homework and class tests. Reading, writing, science and SAT or ACT prep are available too. Evening and weekend times mean lessons can happen after dinner if that is what works. You will see a written summary of each lesson in the parent app, and an account manager checks in with you every term. All tutors are chosen from the top 2% of applicants.
Schools in Moreno Valley teach to the California Common Core State Standards for English language arts and math. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Moreno Valley Unified School District teaches the bulk of the city's children, about 35,000 students across 35 schools, with high schools such as Canyon Springs, Valley View and Vista del Lago. Southern and eastern parts of Moreno Valley fall in Val Verde Unified, home to Rancho Verde High, and a corner of the city belongs to San Jacinto Unified. All three give California's CAASPP (Smarter Balanced) tests in English and math.
Tutero lessons start from the work your child brings home and line up with California's standards, so the skills CAASPP measures get steady practice. For teens, college is close. Moreno Valley College is in town, UC Riverside is next door in Riverside, and Cal State San Bernardino is popular with local graduates. That makes solid algebra, clear essays and SAT or ACT scores worth building early.
Moreno Valley took its name from the old community of Moreno, and today its school lines reach into Perris and Mead Valley to the south. Tutero lessons are live and online, so a student in Moreno Valley, Perris or Mead Valley works with exactly the same tutors. Weekday afternoons, evenings and weekends can all be booked, and nobody spends time on the freeway. Families searching from nearby cities like Anaheim and Irvine get that same choice as Moreno Valley households.
