Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Can I find a math teacher for my child in Ocala?
Yes, through Tutero your child gets a certified math teacher who works with them live online. Lessons cover whatever they're learning now, from multiplication to Algebra 1, and fill in gaps from earlier years. A skills check before lesson one shows the teacher exactly where to begin, so the first lesson counts.
Do Step Up for Students scholarships pay for tutoring in Ocala?
UA and PEP scholarships do. Ocala families using those scholarships don't pay out of pocket. FES-EO and FTC funds usually go to private school tuition, though our team is happy to check what your account allows.
Lessons are online. Will my child stay focused?
Most children do, because it's 1-on-1 and the teacher keeps them talking and working the whole time. There's no back row to hide in. The teacher shares the screen, works problems alongside your child and adjusts the pace when attention drifts. Younger children often settle in best with a parent nearby for the first lesson or two.
How do you support students with unique abilities?
We start by reading your child's IEP or any reports you share, then plan lessons around how they learn best. A certified teacher keeps the pace comfortable, repeats what needs repeating and uses the same accommodations as school. A Step Up for Students UA scholarship can cover the cost of every lesson.
Can homeschoolers in Marion County have lessons during the day?
Yes. Daytime slots suit many homeschool families, and evenings and weekends are open too. The teacher follows your curriculum and your pace, and can take on a subject you'd rather not teach yourself. PEP scholarship families can use their funds to pay for lessons, so there's nothing out of pocket.
What does tutoring cost without a scholarship?
Our team quotes one clear rate that's the same for every grade. There are no contracts or lock-in periods, so you can pause over the holidays or stop when your child is back on track. Ask for the rate when you book, and you'll have it before the first lesson.
Ocala is the county seat of Marion County, in North Central Florida, and it has grown to an estimated 71,753 people. The wider metro area is much bigger, but the choice of specialist teachers close to home can still be thin. Online lessons mean your child isn't limited to who's nearby. They get matched with a certified teacher on subject, grade and fit, then meet that teacher every week.
Math is the top request from Ocala parents. Some children need to fill gaps from earlier grades, and some need to stay afloat in Algebra 1. The teacher uses a skills check and your child's Marion County Public Schools work to decide where to start. Students with IEPs get their accommodations in every lesson. Homeschool families can build lessons around their own curriculum. Either way, a written report after each lesson keeps you informed.
Schools in Ocala teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Marion County Public Schools runs the public schools in Ocala. As children move up through the grades, they take FAST, Florida's statewide tests in reading and math, and high schoolers sit end-of-year exams in core courses. Those scores give parents one snapshot of how things are going.
Ocala also has the College of Central Florida, which offers associate and bachelor's degrees and programs like equine studies and nursing. For an Ocala teen, the step from high school classes to college work is close by. That is a good reason to keep reading, writing and math strong early. Each lesson is shaped around your child's own assignments and Florida's standards, with practice for FAST and course exams folded into regular weeks.
Ocala is horse country, with more than 400 thoroughbred farms and training centers, and Silver Springs State Park and the Ocala National Forest nearby. Homes out among the farms can be a long drive from town. Online lessons take that drive away. A family on the edge of Ocala gets the same choice of teachers as one near downtown, and families in Gainesville and other nearby towns do too. Lessons run live at weekday, evening and weekend times.
