Why are Georgia families choosing homeschool tutoring?
Homeschooling is one of the fastest-growing approaches to education in Georgia, and 1-on-1 tutoring is how many families fill the gaps a parent can't always cover. A tutor brings subject depth in areas like algebra, chemistry, writing and reading comprehension, and gives a homeschool student the regular accountability of working with someone outside the family. Tutero matches Georgia homeschoolers in Atlanta, Macon, Savannah, Augusta, Athens and rural counties with tutors who teach to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and prepare students for the Georgia Milestones and the Stanford 10. Sessions run online, so a family in North Georgia gets the same quality of tutor as a family in metro Atlanta. Parents stay in charge of the curriculum and pace; the tutor handles the teaching for the subjects you want help with.

How does Tutero's homeschool tutoring work in Georgia?
You tell us the grade level, the subjects, and what your homeschooler is working on, and we match you with a tutor inside 24 hours. Lessons are 1-on-1, online, and built around your child rather than a fixed program. Tutors cover math, English language arts, science, social studies and writing for Grade K-12, and align lessons to the Georgia Standards of Excellence so progress carries over to Georgia Milestones and Stanford 10 assessments. There are no contracts and no sign-up fees. You pay per lesson after the session, starting from US$45 an hour, so you can scale tutoring up during a tough unit and pull back when your homeschooler is flying solo again. Parents get a short written summary after every session so you always know what was covered and what to practice next.
Does Tutero help with Georgia homeschool law and assessments?
Georgia homeschool law asks parents to file an annual Declaration of Intent with the Georgia Department of Education, teach the required subject areas (reading, language arts, math, social studies and science), keep monthly attendance records, write an annual progress report, and administer a nationally standardized test at the end of grades 3, 6, 9 and 12. Tutero doesn't file paperwork for you, but our tutors are experienced with how Georgia homeschool families operate. They plan lessons that map cleanly to the required subjects, build evidence you can use in your annual progress report, and prepare students for the Stanford 10 and Iowa Test of Basic Skills, the assessments most Georgia homeschool families use. If your child sits the Georgia Milestones through a co-op or hybrid program, tutors prepare for that too.
Can homeschool tutoring be paid for with the Georgia Promise Scholarship?
The Georgia Promise Scholarship is a state-funded education savings account worth US$6,500 per eligible student per year, available to Georgia families who pull their child out of a designated low-performing public school. Approved expenses include private school tuition, curriculum, therapies and tutoring services. If your family is approved for the Georgia Promise Scholarship, 1-on-1 tutoring with Tutero is the kind of academic support the program is designed to fund. We can help you understand what's typically reimbursable and provide the receipts and lesson summaries you'll need to submit through the program's portal. If you're not on the Georgia Promise Scholarship, families also pay privately, starting from US$45 an hour with no contracts.
Which subjects and grade levels does Tutero cover for Georgia homeschoolers?
Tutero covers the full Grade K-12 range for Georgia homeschool families. The most common requests we see are early reading and phonics for elementary grades, math through pre-algebra and algebra for middle school, and writing, biology, chemistry, US history and SAT or ACT prep for high school. Tutors work to the Georgia Standards of Excellence and adapt the pace to your child rather than to a class. If your homeschooler is accelerating in one subject and needs more time in another, the tutor follows your lead. For students preparing for the Stanford 10, Iowa Test of Basic Skills or Georgia Milestones, we build short, focused prep blocks into the regular lesson rhythm so the assessment never feels like a separate burden.
How do Georgia homeschool families get started with Tutero?
Tell us about your homeschooler — grade level, subjects you want help with, any IEP or learning differences, and how often you'd like to meet — and a tutor match comes back inside 24 hours. The first lesson is a real lesson, not a sales call, and you only pay after it happens. From there, sessions run on whatever schedule fits your homeschool, weekly, twice a week, or as-needed for a tough unit. There are no contracts and no sign-up fees, and you can change tutors at any time. Georgia homeschool families across Atlanta, Cobb County, Gwinnett, Macon, Savannah, Augusta, Athens and rural North Georgia use Tutero to add 1-on-1 academic support to a home-led education without giving up control of the curriculum.
