The Florida Hope Scholarship was created to give students who’ve experienced bullying or violence a fresh start in a safer, more supportive educational environment. Eligible students can use the scholarship to transfer to a private school and receive funding for tuition, instructional materials, and tutoring. Who Qualifies and How the Hope Scholarship Works
The Hope Scholarship is available to Florida students in K-12 who’ve been subjected to bullying, harassment, or physical violence in a public school setting. Once the incident is reported and verified, families can apply through Step Up For Students and receive funding to cover private school tuition and related educational services—including tutoring. The amount awarded varies by grade and district, but the support it offers is life-changing. Tutero’s tutoring programs are fully compatible with Hope Scholarship guidelines, making it easy for families to apply funds directly to our services. We also assist with documentation and reporting, so families can focus on healing and learning.

There is no waiting period on the tutoring side. If the family is still navigating the scholarship application or school transfer process, our team can help coordinate timing so academic support begins as soon as possible.
Yes. Tutoring with Tutero is independent of which school the student attends, so there is no disruption when a student transfers. If the new school follows a different pacing guide or curriculum emphasis, the tutor adjusts accordingly. Many families find that keeping the same tutor through a school change gives the student a consistent anchor during an otherwise uncertain transition.
The tutor starts by identifying which concepts the student missed or did not fully grasp, then builds a targeted plan to close those gaps alongside current coursework. Rather than trying to cover everything at once, sessions prioritize the foundational skills that other learning depends on.
