FAQ
An executive function coach helps a student with the skills around schoolwork: planning, organizing, starting tasks, managing time and keeping track of what's due. In Study Skills & Organization Tutoring, a certified teacher teaches those skills on your child's real homework, using the same five steps every session.
Study Skills & Organization Tutoring starts from US$45 an hour. You pay after each lesson, with no contracts and no sign-up fee. Some families use scholarship or HSA funds to pay for lessons.
Yes. If a subject is part of the problem, the same certified teacher can teach it during the focused work block, or we can add subject tutoring alongside.
No. Plenty of students without ADHD lose track of assignments or leave everything to the last night. If your child does have ADHD, an IEP or a 504 plan, tell us on the first call and the teacher works alongside it.
The same five steps every time: a planner check, breaking the biggest task into steps, a focused work block on real homework, setting up one small system such as a backpack or folder routine, and a short note for you in the lesson report.
Once a week suits most students, because the weekly planner check sets the rhythm. Twice a week can help during busy stretches. Routines usually take weeks to stick, so plan on at least a semester.
Any school subject from kindergarten to 12th grade, taught to your state's standards.

Yes. There are no contracts. You pay after each lesson and can stop any time.

INSIDE A SESSION
What a Study Skills & Organization session looks like
Every session follows the same five steps, so your child knows what to expect and the routine becomes theirs. The skills are taught on the work your child actually has this week, not on worksheets about being organized. The minutes below are a typical split for a one-hour session.
Checking the planner (about 10 minutes)
Together they go through what's due, what's missing and what's coming up, and put it all in one place: a paper planner, the school portal or both.
Breaking the work into steps (about 10 minutes)
The biggest task of the week becomes a list of small, specific steps with a day next to each one. "Science project" turns into "pick a topic Tuesday, find three sources Wednesday".
A focused work block (about 25 minutes)
Your child does the first step of real homework with the teacher there, so starting stops being the wall it was.
Setting up systems (about 10 minutes)
One small system at a time: a backpack routine, a folder for loose sheets, phone reminders, a set homework time. The teacher checks next week whether it stuck.
A note for you (about 5 minutes)
The session ends with a short parent note in the lesson report: what's due, what was set up and the one thing worth checking at home.
Your child doesn't need a diagnosis to start. It suits children with ADHD and children who simply lose track.
Will it help, and how long does it take?
Organization is learned the way any skill is: shown, practiced and repeated. A system your child set up once and never used again doesn't count. That's why the planner check opens every session, and why the teacher looks at last week's system before adding a new one.
How often. Once a week works for most students, because the weekly planner check gives the session its rhythm. Twice a week can help during a heavy stretch, such as the start of high school or exam season.
How long. Expect weeks before a routine sticks and a semester before it runs without reminders. The signs to watch are practical: fewer missing assignments, less panic the night before, and your child telling you what's due before you ask.
Your part. Ten minutes a week. The parent note tells you the one thing worth checking, and our guide to the 10-minute weekly planner check shows how to run it at home.
“Everything has been easy from a logistics perspective, from the matching with a tutor to the automatic payments to the weekly class report from the tutor to keep us up with progress.”
Abi Couchman, parent. Trustpilot review.
“Our tutor keeps a great engagement throughout the entire session and despite connecting at the end of the day in the middle of the week, it is something my son keeps looking forward too every week.”
Ixia Diaz, parent. Google review.
