INSIDE A LESSON
What a dyslexia lesson looks like
Every lesson is live, 1-on-1 and online, with the same teacher each week. Your child's teacher plans each lesson from what your child is working on at school and what they saw last time, so the order changes from week to week. Most lessons include these parts.
Reviewing what was taught last time
A few minutes reading and spelling words from earlier lessons, so patterns your child has already learned keep getting easier instead of fading.
Teaching one new step, directly
One sound, spelling pattern or rule, explained out loud and shown on a shared whiteboard, then practiced straight away. If your child gets stuck, the teacher goes back a step rather than pushing on.
Practicing it in real words and sentences
Your child reads and writes words that use the new pattern, and the teacher corrects each sound as it happens.
Reading real text aloud
A passage or book at the right level, often from class, to build accuracy and fluency.
Bringing it back to schoolwork
The rest of the lesson goes to what is due: a spelling list, a reading log, a writing task. Ideas and vocabulary stay at grade level while decoding catches up.
Setting a small practice task
If home practice suits your child, the teacher posts a short task in the parent app, due before the next lesson.

Children with dyslexia usually need much more practice than their classmates before a pattern becomes automatic, and one-on-one time is where they get it.
