center 32%The content is easy to read, hard to apply. Most students can recite what the amygdala does. Marks go on the questions that hand them a new scenario: name the variables in an unfamiliar study, spot the confounding variable, or explain which part of the nervous system responds first. Research methods run through every exam, and a full class rarely gets to practise them one student at a time.
Their current topic, then a real question. The tutor starts with whatever the class is on this week, such as the stress response or models of memory. The student explains it in their own words, then answers a past exam question built around a study they have never seen. That evening the parent app has a report on what held up, what did not, and the plan to the next task.
Usually at the next school task. Marks tend to show at the next piece of school assessment, which in psychology might be a data analysis task, an IA draft or a topic test. Lessons run weekly through the term, and the account manager checks progress with you at the end of it.

Find a psychology tutor
Private 1-to-1 psychology tuition with Tutero costs from S$65 an hour, and the rate is the same in Sec 4 as in JC2. There is no contract and no sign-up fee, and you pay after each lesson rather than for a term in advance.
The hourly rate includes matching with a tutor who knows the student's course, a dedicated account manager and a written report after every lesson in the parent app.
Tutors work to the student's own course: A-Level Psychology where the school offers it, Cambridge International AS and A Level Psychology, or IB Psychology at SL and HL.
Lessons cover the nervous system and the stress response, classical and operant conditioning, models of memory, sleep, mental wellbeing and research methods: variables, hypotheses, sampling, ethics and data analysis. Students also practise short answers, the extended response and their practical reports.
Each lesson is one student and one tutor, live, on an interactive whiteboard where they can map out the nervous system, label a study's variables and mark practice answers together. The student keeps the same tutor each week, so the tutor knows which topic is next and how the next school task will be marked.
The first change most parents notice is confidence. Marks follow at the next school assessment, because every lesson is planned around the student's own course and task dates.
After a short quiz, an account manager calls to ask about the student's level, school, course, upcoming assessments and how they like to learn. The tutor is then carefully selected for that course and for personality fit.
In the first lesson the tutor works through the current topic, finds where marks are being lost and sets goals for the term. If the match is not right, a new tutor is free.
Research methods questions follow a pattern the student can learn: identify the independent and dependent variables, write a hypothesis that names both and the population, then explain what could confound the result. Tutors set new study scenarios each week, the student answers, and the tutor marks it the way an examiner would.
Closer to the exam, lessons move to past papers, timed practice, extended responses and a revision plan that covers every part of the syllabus.
Tutero's psychology tutors are carefully selected, and each student is matched with a tutor who knows their particular course, such as A-Level Psychology, Cambridge Psychology or IB Psychology. Four tutors are introduced on this page. The full team is on the Our Tutors page, with each tutor's subjects, university and background.
Anywhere in Singapore with an internet connection. Students can choose from the same psychology tutors wherever they live, with lessons on weekdays, evenings and weekends.
There are dedicated pages for A-Level, IB and IGCSE tuition, and for every level from Primary to JC.
Submit a request with the student's level and course, and the team will match them with a psychology tutor. Most families start with one lesson a week, timed around school assessment dates. You pay after each lesson, there are no contracts, and you can stop any time.
