Amrita came to Tutero scoring 56% on fractions and decimals. Her mum Madhu did not want maths to become a pressure, so she looked for a tutor and had a call back within a couple of hours. Amrita was matched with Rishika, who worked with her every week on exactly what her class was covering. Her next topic test on the same material came back at 100%, and she has since told her mum she wants to take maths further.
“She was struggling, and I was trying to find a tutor. I am so grateful that I did.”
Madhu, Amrita’s mum
“Amrita loves her tutor Rishika and reaches for maths far more now.”

center 32%Usually a gap, not ability. Maths is cumulative: a gap in fractions in Year 5 becomes an algebra problem in Year 8 and an A level problem in Year 12. Most students who say they hate maths are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour on the live whiteboard, working through the current school topic. The tutor watches how the student approaches a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. That evening a written report and a term plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, marks next term. Marks follow at the next assessment, because schools measure a term at a time. One lesson a week through the term, then a review with the account manager.

Tutero's private 1-to-1 maths tutoring starts at £45 an hour at every year level, from Reception to Year 13. There are no contracts and no sign-up fee, and you pay after each lesson rather than up front.
That includes tutor matching, a dedicated account manager, a report after every lesson in the parent app and a learning plan.
Every lesson follows the National Curriculum for Reception to Year 11 and the sixth form courses for Years 12 and 13: A level Maths and A level Further Mathematics, and the IB Diploma's Analysis and Approaches and Applications and Interpretation courses.
In primary school that means number sense, times tables, fractions and decimals, with KS2 SATs maths. In Years 7 to 11 it is algebra, geometry, trigonometry and financial maths, plus scholarship and GCSE exam preparation.
Tutero's maths tutoring is one student and one tutor in a live online lesson, with an interactive whiteboard, real-time problem solving and a written report after every lesson. Students keep the same tutor from week to week, so the tutor knows where the gaps are and what the next school assessment looks like.
Parents usually see the change in confidence first. Grades follow, because lessons are planned against the student's own curriculum and assessments rather than a generic workbook.
After a short quiz, an account manager calls to learn the student's year level, curriculum, goals and how they like to learn. The tutor is chosen for subject expertise and personality fit from the top 2% of maths tutors who apply to Tutero each year.
The first lesson is a diagnostic: the tutor finds the gaps and sets goals for the term.
Tutors prepare students for school assessments, SATs, 11+ exams and GCSE and A level maths exams, with practice questions, exam strategies and a revision plan.
Tutero's maths tutors are university students and graduates who scored in the top band of their own final exams, alongside qualified teachers. Every tutor completes hours of training and coaching before their first lesson.
Four of them are introduced on this page. The full team is on the Our Tutors page, with each tutor's specialism, university and results.
Anywhere in the UK with an internet connection. A student in a country town has the same choice of tutors as one in Manchester, with lessons on weekdays, evenings and weekends.
There are dedicated pages for maths tutoring in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and Newcastle, and for GCSE, A level, 11+ and IB maths.
Submit a request and the team will match the student with a maths tutor for their year level, curriculum and goals.
You pay after each lesson, there are no contracts, and you can stop any time.
