Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Do you offer SAT prep for Boca Raton high schoolers?
Yes, SAT prep is one of the subjects Boca Raton families ask for most. Your teen's teacher starts with a practice check to see which Reading and Writing or Math skills need work, then builds weekly lessons around them. Lessons fit around school, sports and weekend plans, and progress shows up in the report after each one.
Can my child get reading help, not just math?
Yes, reading is a core subject from kindergarten through high school. The teacher looks at decoding, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension, then practices with the texts your child reads in class. With Florida's state reading test (FAST) in view, parents can follow each step in the written lesson reports. Older students can also work on essays and close reading for English class.
Is there a Spanish teacher for Boca Raton students?
Yes, Spanish is one of the subjects our certified teachers cover. It suits students taking Spanish at school who need help with grammar, vocabulary or speaking. Like every subject, lessons are live and 1-on-1 with the same teacher each week, and they follow what your child is learning in class.
Does Step Up for Students cover tutoring in Boca Raton?
Yes, if your child has a UA or PEP scholarship. Lessons are paid straight from the scholarship account, with nothing out of pocket. FES-EO and FTC funds mostly go toward private school tuition, and our team can check what your account allows.
How is this different from a local tutoring center?
The main difference is that your child works 1-on-1 with one certified teacher, every week, from home. There is no group table and no rotating staff. Each lesson is planned from your child's own schoolwork, and you get a written report afterward, so you always know what happened. Your child also skips the drive, which matters on school nights.
What does it cost if we don't have a scholarship?
You pay one clear rate, whatever your child's grade. Our team explains it on your first call, and there are no contracts, so you can stop at any time. Families using a Step Up for Students UA or PEP scholarship pay nothing out of pocket for lessons. Our team can check your scholarship on the same call.
Parents in Boca Raton tend to search for three things: a math teacher, a reading teacher and SAT prep. We cover all three the same way. A skills check comes first, then your child's teacher plans lessons around the assignments coming home from the School District of Palm Beach County, or around your homeschool curriculum. High schoolers working toward the SAT get practice on the exact question types that slow them down.
Plenty of families with a Boca Raton address live outside the city limits, in West Boca Raton and nearby. With online lessons, that makes no difference. You get the same pick of certified teachers and times that suit a busy week, including evenings and weekends. Spanish is on offer too, for students taking it at school who want extra practice. After each lesson, a written report lands in the parent app.
Schools in Boca Raton teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
The School District of Palm Beach County runs public schools in Boca Raton and is the thirteenth-largest public school district in the country. Boca Raton Community High School serves the east of the city, Spanish River covers the west-central area, and Olympic Heights and West Boca Raton Community High serve the unincorporated west. Middle schools include Don Estridge High Tech Middle, a technology magnet named for the leader of the IBM PC team, plus Omni and Loggers' Run.
Two schools sit outside the county system: Alexander D. Henderson University School and FAU High School, both on the Florida Atlantic University campus. In public schools across Boca Raton, students take Florida's FAST reading and math tests and end-of-course exams in high school. A Tutero teacher follows your child's class material and Florida's standards, so that preparation fits naturally into weekly lessons.
Pearl City, the neighborhood just north of downtown Boca Raton, was first platted in 1915. Lessons with Tutero are live and online, so a family there or anywhere in Boca Raton has the same choice of teachers, with weekday, evening and weekend times. The same is true next door in Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and Parkland. Your child learns from home with one teacher each week, and there is no drive along the coast.
