Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Who teaches the lessons for Cooper City students?
Certified teachers teach every lesson, live and online. Before matching, we look at your child's grade, subjects and any IEP goals. Cooper City families meet the teacher in the first lesson and keep that same person week after week.
Can homeschool families in Cooper City use Step Up for lessons?
Yes, a Step Up for Students PEP scholarship covers lessons for homeschool students. The scholarship pays, so you don't. The teacher builds lessons from your chosen curriculum, a boxed program or your own plan, and can cover one subject or several.
How do I know the lessons are working?
You'll see it in writing after every lesson. The teacher's report in the parent app, on iPhone and Android, says what your child practiced, where they got stuck and what's next. Each term your education specialist reviews progress against the skills check from lesson one, and school grades and FAST results round out the picture.
What does tutoring cost without a scholarship?
It's one clear rate for every grade, with no contracts. Our team shares it on a quick call once they understand what your child needs. If you have a Step Up for Students UA or PEP scholarship, none of that applies, because every lesson is covered and you pay nothing out of pocket.
Do you work with students who have an IEP?
Yes. Share the IEP and the teacher builds lessons around its goals, such as reading fluency or math facts. Lessons move at your child's pace, with clear steps and plenty of practice. For students with unique abilities, a UA scholarship can cover the full cost of every lesson.
Can lessons fit around school pickup and activities?
Yes, you choose the times. Teachers are available on weekdays after school, in the evenings and on weekends, and your child joins from home. Keeping the same weekly slot turns lessons into part of the routine, which helps younger children settle in and makes the week easier to plan.
Cooper City is a smaller Broward County city, founded by Morris Cooper in 1959 and home to about 34,000 people. Parents here often tell us the hard part isn't finding help, it's finding help that stays. A different face every visit means your child explains the same problem again and again. That matters most for younger readers and for students with IEPs, who do best with a steady routine.
With Tutero, one certified teacher takes your child from the first skills check to the end of the year. Lessons follow Broward County Public Schools classwork and prepare for Florida's state tests (FAST) in reading and math. Homeschool families bring their own curriculum, and the teacher plans around it. After each lesson you get a short written report in the parent app, so you always know what was covered and what comes next.
Schools in Cooper City teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Cooper City is served by Broward County Public Schools. Elementary students attend schools such as Cooper City Elementary, Embassy Creek and Griffin, and Pioneer Middle School serves grades six to eight. Parts of the western side are zoned to Silver Trail Middle School and West Broward High School in Pembroke Pines, while most students go on to Cooper City High School.
Cooper City High offers more than 22 AP classes, and its AP participation is among the highest in Broward County, which can mean a heavy course load for older students. Younger children take the FAST, Florida's statewide reading and math tests, and high schoolers sit end-of-year course exams. A Tutero teacher plans each lesson around the class your child is in right now, from third-grade reading to an AP unit in Cooper City.
Cooper City is part of the Miami metro area, with developments like Embassy Lakes and Rock Creek, and it grew in 2006 when it annexed the Waldrep Dairy Farm. Davie, Pembroke Pines and Weston are close by. Tutero lessons take place live online, so a family in any part of Cooper City gets the same range of teachers as one in Miramar or Fort Lauderdale. Lessons can sit on a weekday afternoon, in the evening or at the weekend, whichever suits your household.
