Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Can a tutor help with nightly homework in Glendale?
Yes, homework help is one of the main reasons Glendale families start with us. The tutor works through current assignments with your child, but the goal is to teach the skill behind them so homework gets easier over time. You'll see which skills were covered in each report. Tutors can also show you how to support homework time at home.
Do you offer reading tutoring for elementary students?
Yes, we tutor reading from kindergarten up. For younger children, lessons focus on phonics, fluency and understanding what they read. Older students work on longer texts, vocabulary and written responses. The tutor adjusts books and tasks to your child's level. Glendale parents get a report after each lesson that shows which reading skills improved and what the tutor will work on next week.
Are weekend lessons available?
Yes, you can book weekend lessons as well as weekday afternoons and evenings. Because tutors are online, the range of times is wider than a local center can offer. You choose a regular slot, and if something changes, your account manager can help you move it. Many Glendale families like a Saturday morning lesson, when kids are rested and there's no homework rush.
How is this different from free library tutoring?
The main difference is continuity. Your child has the same tutor every week, a plan built from a skills check and a written record of every lesson. Drop-in help is useful for one assignment, while regular lessons build skills that carry into the next unit. It also means someone notices when a small problem starts to grow.
How much does tutoring in Glendale cost?
Glendale families receive a custom quote with a single rate for every grade. There's no contract involved, and you can pause or end lessons at any time. That rate covers tutor matching, the lesson reports and a personal account manager who reviews progress. You can ask questions before starting, and you'll see the exact rate before the first lesson is booked.
Who are the tutors?
Our tutors are handpicked from the top 2% of applicants and matched to your child by subject, grade and personality. Each one is checked before they teach. Every tutor works to a plan built from your child's own schoolwork and writes a report after each lesson, so you always know what is being taught and why.
Glendale sits right next to Phoenix, home to State Farm Stadium and the Arrowhead Towne Center, with close to 250,000 residents. Many families search for library tutoring or drop-in homework help. Those can be useful, but the helper changes each visit, and nobody tracks what your child learned last week.
Our approach keeps one tutor with your child. That tutor sees the homework coming home, knows which math skills are shaky and which reading tasks take too long, and plans each lesson around it. Lessons are held online after school, in the evening or on weekends, so they fit around practice and family dinners. Before the first lesson, a skills check shows where to begin, and the plan also touches the reading, writing and math skills tested on Arizona's AASA. Parents get a written report after every lesson in the app, which makes it easy to follow along.
Schools in Glendale teach to Arizona's Academic Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Glendale does not have one school district. It has many. Elementary students may attend Glendale Elementary, Washington, Pendergast, Alhambra or Litchfield Elementary, then move up to Glendale Union, Agua Fria, Tolleson or Phoenix Union for high school. Other homes are zoned to unified districts such as Peoria Unified, which is headquartered in Glendale, Deer Valley or Dysart.
That split means a Glendale child can change districts between middle and high school, but the state test stays the same. Arizona's AASA checks reading, writing and math each year against the state standards. Tutoring picks up from the materials your child uses now, at a district school or a private one like Arrowhead Christian Academy, and prepares them for the AASA. Glendale Community College is nearby for teens ready to try college classes.
Glendale borders the state capital, and many families here split their week between Glendale, Phoenix and Surprise for work, school and sport. Adding a drive to a tutor on top of that is hard. Online lessons remove the trip. Your child meets their tutor live from home, and every Glendale household, whichever district it is zoned to, gets the same choice of tutors. Weekday afternoons, evenings and weekends are all available, so lessons fit the family calendar.
