Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Is there a math teacher in Oviedo who can help my child catch up?
Yes. Oviedo students work 1-on-1 with a certified teacher online, from early math to Algebra 1 and beyond. The teacher finds the gap first, then builds forward, using homework and tests from Seminole County Public Schools. Progress is written up for you after each lesson. Lessons run at weekday, evening or weekend times.
Do you teach science as well as math?
Yes, science is covered at every grade, including biology, chemistry and physics in high school. Lessons focus on understanding the ideas, then applying them to homework, labs and tests. Students who struggle in science are sometimes stuck on the math behind it, and the teacher can work on both. Written reports show you what was covered.
Can a teacher help my child get ready for end-of-year exams?
Yes. Florida students take state tests (FAST) in reading and math, plus end-of-year exams in courses like Algebra 1. The teacher builds review into regular lessons well ahead of those exams, so your child is not cramming at the last minute. The report after each lesson shows which topics are ready and which need more work.
Is Tutero on the Step Up for Students EMA Marketplace?
Yes. For Oviedo families with a UA or PEP scholarship, lessons are covered and nothing is paid out of pocket. FES-EO and FTC mostly go toward private school tuition, and our team can check your account for you. Our team helps you order lessons on the Marketplace too.
Can my child keep the same teacher all year?
Yes, your child keeps one certified teacher every week for as long as lessons continue. That teacher learns how your child thinks, which makes each lesson more useful. Your education specialist also checks in each term to review progress and update the plan.
What does tutoring in Oviedo cost?
For UA and PEP scholarship families, nothing out of pocket, because Step Up for Students covers each lesson. For everyone else, our team gives one clear rate that applies to every grade. There are no contracts, and you can ask anything on a short call first. Any Oviedo family can ask.
Oviedo is a fast-growing city in Seminole County, close to the University of Central Florida and the Central Florida Research Park, and students here attend Seminole County Public Schools. Math is the subject Oviedo parents search for most, and science often follows once classes get more demanding. Both subjects build on themselves. One missed idea in a unit can make the next three harder.
Your child's certified teacher starts by finding that missed idea with a skills check. From there, lessons follow the class: fractions and ratios, equations, Algebra 1, or biology and chemistry for older students. The teacher explains the why behind each step, not just the method. Lessons run online at weekday, evening or weekend times, and a report after each one tells you what your child learned. Homeschool students and students with IEPs follow the same approach with their own plan.
Schools in Oviedo teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Oviedo students attend Seminole County Public Schools. Like public school students across Florida, they take FAST, the state's reading and math tests, in the tested grades. Once they reach certain middle and high school courses, an end-of-year state exam is added to the mix.
The University of Central Florida and the Central Florida Research Park sit close to Oviedo, and a lot of local families have college on the radar early. Strong course grades and solid test results help keep options open. Your child's teacher reads through the work coming home from class, lines it up with Florida's standards, and adds practice for FAST and course exams well before test week, so an Oviedo student is not cramming at the end.
Oviedo has changed a lot. It was once known for farms, historic houses and chickens wandering downtown, and now new developments keep going up to match its growth. Older streets and brand new ones in Oviedo get the same choice of teachers, because lessons happen live online. Families nearby in Orlando, Apopka and Winter Garden have that same choice. Weekday, evening and weekend times are open, so lessons fit around school and work.
