Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

What should I look for in Carrollwood tutoring?
Look for three things: a qualified teacher, the same teacher every week, and regular updates you can read. Tutero offers all three for Carrollwood families. Lessons are one-on-one and planned from your child's schoolwork, so time goes to the skills your child actually needs rather than generic worksheets.
Is one-on-one help better than a small group?
One-on-one gives your child the teacher's full attention for the whole lesson, which usually means faster progress on specific gaps. In a group, time is shared and the pace is set for the middle. Online, there's also no drive, and lesson times include evenings and weekends.
How does Step Up for Students work with Tutero?
UA and PEP scholarships pay for lessons directly. Carrollwood families with those scholarships pay nothing out of pocket. For FES-EO or FTC, which are mostly used for private school tuition, our team can check your account.
Can you prepare my child for the FAST?
Yes. The teacher uses your child's earlier FAST results, if you have them, along with the skills check to see which reading or math skills need work. Lessons build those skills during the year, then add practice in the test's style in the weeks before. The reports show which skills improved.
Do you support students with unique abilities?
Yes. Students with an IEP get lessons built on its goals and accommodations, at a pace that suits them. A Step Up for Students UA scholarship can cover every lesson. Seeing the same teacher each week also gives the steady routine that many students with unique abilities rely on.
Can high schoolers get AP or SAT help?
Yes. Carrollwood high schoolers can get help with AP courses through the year and focused exam practice before the May exams. SAT and ACT prep starts with a practice section, then targets the sections where points are easiest to gain, with timed work in the final weeks.
Carrollwood, including Carrollwood Village, is a Hillsborough County community of about 34,000 in the 33618 ZIP code. When you compare options for extra help, it's worth asking three questions of each one. Who will actually teach my child? Will it be the same person each time? And how will I know it's working?
With Tutero, the answers are simple. A certified teacher teaches every lesson, one-on-one. It's the same teacher every week, matched after a skills check and changed if the fit is off. And you'll know it's working because you read a written report after each lesson and review progress with your education specialist every term. Lessons follow Hillsborough County Public Schools classwork and Florida's state tests (FAST), or your homeschool plan if you teach at home.
Schools in Carrollwood teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Carrollwood children attend Hillsborough County Public Schools. Younger students go to elementary schools such as Lake Magdalene, Essrig, Carrollwood and Canela, then move on to Hill or Adams Middle School. For high school, Chamberlain and Gaither both appear on the Carrollwood list. At each stage the state checks progress with the FAST, its statewide reading and math tests, and older students also sit end-of-year course exams.
The move from elementary to middle school, and again into high school, is when many Carrollwood students first feel the pace pick up. A Tutero teacher looks at the homework and quizzes coming out of your child's classroom, spots the skills that need work, and plans each week from there, with the FAST and course exams in view.
Carrollwood is an unincorporated community in Hillsborough County, with Tampa, Land O' Lakes and Palm Harbor among its neighbors. Lessons with Tutero happen live over video, so a student in Carrollwood Village or anywhere else in Carrollwood picks from the same group of teachers as a student in Tampa or Riverview. Nobody sits in traffic on the way to a learning center after a long school day. Times run on school afternoons, into the evening and across the weekend, and the slot you choose stays yours each week.
