Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Do you offer tutoring across Pinellas County, not just Pinellas Park?
Yes. Lessons are online, so families anywhere in Pinellas County, and across Florida, can book the same certified teachers. Your child learns from home with the same teacher each week, and there is no travel involved on either side. That gives Pinellas Park families a wider choice of teachers and lesson times, including evenings and weekends.
Can a teacher help my young child learn to read?
Yes, early reading is a core part of what we teach. The teacher checks letter sounds, blending, fluency and understanding, then plans lessons around the skill your child needs next. Progress is written up after every lesson, so you can practice the same things at home. Homeschool families can use the same approach with their own reading program.
Which Step Up for Students scholarships cover lessons?
UA and PEP scholarships from Step Up for Students cover lessons in full, so families pay nothing out of pocket. FES-EO and FTC are mostly used for private school tuition, and our team can check what your account allows. Our team helps with the order so you do not have to figure it out alone.
Can you help Pinellas Park students with math too?
Yes, we teach math at every grade alongside reading. Younger students build number sense and times tables. Older students work on fractions, equations and Algebra 1. Every plan starts with a skills check and follows what your child is doing in class. Written reports after each lesson show where your child is improving, one skill at a time.
What happens in the first lesson?
The first lesson is about getting to know your child. After a short skills check, the teacher starts on the most important gap and learns how your child likes to work. You get a written report afterward that explains what the teacher found and the plan from here. Your child keeps that same teacher every week after the first lesson.
What does it cost for families without a scholarship?
There is one clear rate for every grade, and no contracts. Our team walks you through it on a call. If your child has a Step Up for Students UA or PEP scholarship, lessons are covered and you pay nothing at all. You can ask about both options before you book anything.
Pinellas Park is the fourth-largest city in Pinellas County, in the middle of the Tampa Bay area, and its children attend Pinellas County Schools. For younger students, the most useful help is often reading. A child who is not reading smoothly in the early grades can start to avoid books and then fall behind in every other subject too. A weekly teacher can catch that early.
Lessons for younger readers are lively and built around sounds, words and stories at the right level. Your child's teacher uses what the class is reading and keeps an eye on Florida's state reading test (FAST). Families elsewhere in Pinellas County get the same teachers, since everything is online. After each lesson, a plain report in the parent app tells you what your child practiced and what to try at home. Homeschool families and students with IEPs follow the same approach.
Schools in Pinellas Park teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Pinellas County Schools serves Pinellas Park, and most of the city's high schoolers attend Pinellas Park High School or Dixie M. Hollins High School. Before that, students take FAST, Florida's reading and math tests, in the tested grades. High school adds end-of-year exams in certain courses.
St. Petersburg College's Caruth Health Education Center is in the city too, with nursing, dental hygiene and other health programs. For a Pinellas Park teen curious about health careers, strong science and math matter well before graduation. Your child's teacher studies the assignments from class, checks them against Florida's standards, and builds practice for FAST and course exams into lessons that feel like a natural next step.
Pinellas Park sits in central Pinellas County, part of the Tampa Bay Area. When lessons are live and online, a family anywhere in Pinellas Park gets the same choice of teachers as a family in St. Petersburg, Clearwater or Palm Harbor. Nobody has to fight traffic after school. Choose weekday afternoon, evening or weekend times, and your child learns from home with the same teacher each week. If your family moves elsewhere in Pinellas County, the teacher and the time slot can stay exactly the same.
