Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

How much is tutoring in Stuart, FL?
That comes down to your scholarship. When a child in Stuart holds a Step Up for Students UA or PEP award, lessons are billed to it and you pay nothing. Without a scholarship, we quote one flat rate that doesn't change by grade. You won't sign a contract, and you can stop at any time.
Which subjects can my child study?
Every core subject from kindergarten to 12th grade. That includes math, reading and writing, science, and test prep such as the SAT, ACT and AP exams. Many students start with the one subject causing the most stress and add another later. Each subject begins with a skills check, so the teacher knows where your child stands.
Can I pay for Tutero with my Step Up scholarship?
Yes. That means UA and PEP scholarships can be used for our lessons. FES-EO and FTC scholarships are mostly used for private school tuition, and if you hold one of those, our team can check what your account allows before you book.
Can you help my child prepare for Florida's state tests?
Yes. Florida students take FAST in reading and math, and high schoolers take end-of-year exams in some courses. Your child's teacher knows those tests and can add targeted practice in the run-up, while keeping up with Martin County classwork the rest of the year.
Do you work with students who have IEPs?
Yes, regularly. Send us the IEP and your child's teacher will use its accommodations in every lesson, like extra time or breaking tasks into steps. Since it's 1-on-1, nothing moves on until your child is ready. Students with unique abilities can use a UA scholarship to pay for lessons.
Can homeschooled kids in Stuart get a teacher for one subject?
Yes. Plenty of homeschool families hand us the subject they find hardest to teach, often math or writing. The teacher plans from your curriculum and sends a written report after every lesson, which doubles as a record of the year. A PEP scholarship from Step Up for Students can pay for it.
Parents in Stuart often ask about cost before anything else, which makes sense in a town where people already search whether living here is expensive. So here's the plain answer. If your child has a Step Up for Students UA or PEP scholarship, lessons are covered and you pay nothing yourself. If not, you get one clear rate for any grade, no contracts, and you can stop whenever you like.
For that, your child gets a certified teacher working with them 1-on-1, the same person each week. Lessons are planned around their classes in the Martin County School District, or around your curriculum if you homeschool. You get a written report after every lesson and a check-in with your education specialist each term. Stuart is the largest of Martin County's five incorporated municipalities, but it's still small, and online lessons widen the choice of teachers far beyond it.
Schools in Stuart teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
Public education in Stuart is run by the Martin County School District. Students in the tested grades take FAST, Florida's statewide reading and math tests, and high school students sit end-of-year exams in certain courses.
Those results help schools and parents see where a child stands. Your child's teacher looks at the same picture from another angle: the real classwork your child brings home, set against Florida's standards. Lessons go after the gaps that show up, and practice for FAST and course exams is added over time rather than all at once. Stuart parents hear what was covered after every lesson, and a Stuart student always knows what they are working toward next.
Stuart sits near the St. Lucie River, the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, and it is part of the Port St. Lucie metro area. Since lessons are live online, every home in Stuart has the same choice of teachers. Families in Vero Beach and West Palm Beach have that choice too. Choose weekday, evening or weekend times, and your child learns from home. The same teacher works with your child every week, so there's no need to reintroduce anything, and lessons build on each other from the start.
