Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

Jill, mom of Emma · FloridaOur Florida team includes a former special education teacher and case manager of 14 years and a former school principal. They walk you through EMA, match your child with the right teacher and check in every term. Here they are at Step Up for Students’ conference in Orlando.

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

Can a scholarship pay for tutoring in West Palm Beach?
For many families, yes. If your child has a Step Up for Students UA or PEP scholarship, lessons with Tutero cost you nothing out of pocket, because the scholarship pays for them. If you do not have a scholarship, we offer one clear rate for every grade, with no contracts.
Can a reading teacher help my child catch up?
Yes, reading is an area our certified teachers focus on with students of every age. The skills check before lesson one shows whether the struggle is sounding out words, reading smoothly or understanding what was read. Lessons then target that specific skill using books and passages from your child's class.
Do you offer SAT prep in West Palm Beach?
Yes. West Palm Beach high schoolers can work 1-on-1 with a teacher on SAT Reading and Writing and Math. The teacher starts from a practice check, focuses on the question types costing the most points, and adjusts each week based on results. Evening and weekend lessons make it easier to fit around school.
How do I use my Step Up scholarship for lessons?
You order lessons from Tutero on the Step Up for Students EMA Marketplace, and the cost comes out of your child's UA or PEP account. Our team guides you through it on a short call. Families with FES-EO or FTC mostly use those for private school tuition, and we can check what yours allows.
Where do the lessons take place?
Every lesson is live and online, so your child learns from home on a laptop or tablet. That means families across West Palm Beach and the rest of Palm Beach County get the same teachers and times. Lessons are 1-on-1, with the same certified teacher each week. All you need is a device with a camera and an internet connection.
How will I know lessons are working?
You will see it in the written report after every lesson. It shows what your child worked on, what went well and what comes next, and it lives in the parent app for iPhone and Android. Each term your education specialist also reviews progress with you and updates the plan.
Many West Palm Beach parents want to know whether tutoring can be covered. For families with a Step Up for Students scholarship, it can: if your child has a UA or PEP scholarship, every lesson is paid from the scholarship account and you pay nothing yourself. Our team checks your account and helps you order lessons on the EMA Marketplace, so the paperwork does not fall on you.
West Palm Beach is the county seat of Palm Beach County, and most students here attend the School District of Palm Beach County. The subjects parents ask for most are reading, math and SAT prep. Younger readers work on sounds, fluency and comprehension with texts from class. Teens preparing for the SAT practice the sections that cost them the most points. Every student keeps the same teacher each week. Homeschool families and students with IEPs get the same weekly teacher and plan.
Schools in West Palm Beach teach to the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. Every Tutero lesson follows these standards and your child's own school or homeschool work, so practice for the state tests below is built into the regular week.
The School District of Palm Beach County, the tenth-largest in the United States by enrollment, runs public schools in West Palm Beach. Students can land in arts magnets like Bak Middle School of the Arts or Dreyfoos School of the Arts, or high schools such as Forest Hill and Palm Beach Lakes.
In all of them, students take FAST, Florida's reading and math tests, and end-of-year exams in high school courses. Palm Beach Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College are in the city too, so college is part of the conversation for West Palm Beach teens. Your child's teacher stays close to the class assignments and Florida's standards, and prepares them for each test.
West Palm Beach sits across the Lake Worth Lagoon from Palm Beach, and it is the oldest incorporated municipality in South Florida. Families from downtown near Clematis Street to the western edges of West Palm Beach get the same choice of teachers, because every lesson is live online. So do families in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Stuart. Pick weekday, evening or weekend times. Your child keeps the same teacher from one week to the next, and a laptop or tablet at home is all the setup needed.
