Emma was diagnosed with dyslexia and dyscalculia when she was young, and more recently with ADHD. Her mom, Jill, chose Tutero because she read that we were equipped to support children with ADHD. Emma works with the same teacher, Lori, every week. Over time they have built a real bond: with Lori, Emma is focused, gets the encouragement she needs, and never asks to skip a lesson. Lori is part of Emma’s week, not a quick fix, and Jill sees the results.
“She really likes Lori, they’ve formed a bond.”
Jill, Emma’s mom
“She never says she doesn’t want tutoring, she always wants to.”

If it is UA or PEP, yes. Families on UA or PEP pay $0 out of pocket, with nothing to pay upfront. Not sure which scholarship your child has? It is shown at the top of their EMA account.
Their teacher gets to know them. One hour, 1-on-1, working on what your child is learning right now. The teacher sees what is solid and where the gaps are, with any IEP goals in mind. Afterwards you get a written report and a plan in the parent app.
No. You tell us once. Share the IEP on your first call and its goals and accommodations go into the plan before lesson one. Your child keeps the same teacher every week, so nobody has to start over.
Straight answers from 310,000+ lessons.

Usually a gap, not ability. Most subjects build on themselves: a gap in fractions in 5th grade becomes an algebra problem in 8th grade. Most students who say they hate a subject are missing two or three specific ideas. The first lesson finds them.
A diagnosis, then a plan. One hour, 1-on-1, working through what your child is learning right now. The tutor watches how they approach a problem and maps what is solid and what is not. Afterwards a written report and a plan land in the parent app.
Confidence first, grades next. Most parents see confidence change first, then grades at the next test or report card. One lesson a week through the semester, with a check-in from your account manager.

What does an executive function coach do?
An executive function coach helps a student with the skills around schoolwork: planning, organizing, starting tasks, managing time and keeping track of what's due. In Study Skills & Organisation Tutoring, a certified teacher teaches those skills on your child's real homework, using the same five steps every session.
How much does executive function tutoring cost?
Study Skills & Organisation Tutoring starts from US$45 an hour. You pay after each lesson, with no contracts and no sign-up fee. Some families use scholarship or HSA funds to pay for lessons.
Is this ADHD coaching or therapy?
No. It's teaching. A certified teacher teaches planning and organization skills inside schoolwork. We don't offer therapy, treatment or ADHD coaching, and nothing in a session replaces support from your child's doctor or school.
Does my child need an ADHD diagnosis?
No. Plenty of students without ADHD lose track of assignments or leave everything to the last night. If your child does have ADHD, an IEP or a 504 plan, tell us on the first call and the teacher works alongside it.
What happens in a session?
The same five steps every time: a planner check, breaking the biggest task into steps, a focused work block on real homework, setting up one small system such as a backpack or folder routine, and a short note for you in the lesson report.
How often should my child have sessions?
Once a week suits most students, because the weekly planner check sets the rhythm. Twice a week can help during busy stretches. Routines usually take weeks to stick, so plan on at least a semester.
Written by a former special-education teacher on Tutero's Learning Support team.
Every session follows the same five steps, so your child knows what to expect and the routine becomes theirs. The skills are taught on the work your child actually has this week, not on worksheets about being organized. The minutes below are a typical split for a 60-minute session.
This is teaching, not therapy and not ADHD coaching. Your child doesn't need a diagnosis to start, and it suits children with ADHD as well as children who simply lose track.
The short version, for parents comparing options.
Executive function is the set of skills that gets work from "assigned" to "handed in": planning, organizing, starting, keeping focus and remembering what's due. CHADD, the national ADHD organization, describes academic coaching as work on exactly those skills, and tutoring as teaching in school subjects. Many coaches tutor and many tutors coach, so the label matters less than what happens in the session.
Study Skills & Organisation Tutoring sits in the middle. Your child's teacher works on the planning and organizing skills, but always on real homework, so a system gets tested the same week it's set up. If a subject is the real problem, the same teacher can teach it, or we can add subject tutoring for ADHD alongside.
Matching starts with a call with your account manager about your child's grade, workload, what tends to go wrong in a week and what they enjoy. They choose a certified teacher using our matching filter for learning needs and personality, and the teacher gets a full brief and emails you before the first session.
Organization is learned the way any skill is: shown, practiced and repeated. A system your child set up once and never used again doesn't count. That's why the planner check opens every session, and why the teacher looks at last week's system before adding a new one.
How often. Once a week works for most students, because the weekly planner check gives the session its rhythm. Twice a week can help during a heavy stretch, such as the start of high school or exam season.
How long. Expect weeks before a routine sticks and a semester before it runs without reminders. The signs to watch are practical: fewer missing assignments, less panic the night before, and your child telling you what's due before you ask.
Your part. Ten minutes a week. The parent note tells you the one thing worth checking, and our guide to the 10-minute weekly planner check shows how to run it at home.
"Everything has been easy from a logistics perspective, from the matching with a tutor to the automatic payments to the weekly class report from the tutor to keep us up with progress."
Abi Couchman, parent. Trustpilot review.
"Our tutor keeps a great engagement throughout the entire session and despite connecting at the end of the day in the middle of the week, it is something my son keeps looking forward too every week."
Ixia Diaz, parent. Google review.
